At SAOLA, every detail matters when it comes to reducing our footprint. And yes—even the color of your sneakers makes a difference. For our Spring/Summer 2025 collection, we’re using an innovative, sustainable dyeing method called Dope Dyeing.
What is Dope Dyeing?
Dope Dyeing is a game-changing textile process where color pigments are added directly into the fiber before it’s spun into yarn. Unlike traditional dyeing—which uses large amounts of water, chemicals, and energy—this method embeds color from the inside out.
The results?
- Fewer production steps
- Less water and energy used
- A significantly lower environmental impact
Why it’s a sustainable fashion game changer
By using Dope Dyeing on several components of our sneakers, we achieved real, measurable results for our Spring/Summer collection:
- 💧 317,000 gallons of water saved — that’s equal to 24,000 five-minute showers
- 🌍 30 tons of CO₂ emissions avoided — about 6 car trips around the globe
Pretty amazing, right?
Long-lasting color with low impact
Beyond the eco-benefits, Dope Dyeing also delivers when it comes to performance and style:
- The color is infused deep into the fiber, making it highly resistant to fading, wear, and washing
- Shades remain stable and even over time
- The result is a clean, natural look that perfectly matches SAOLA’s laid-back, conscious aesthetic
It's the perfect blend of textile performance, durability, and sustainability.
