Kicks that kick back

We committed to donating a portion of all sales to three conservation organizations of your choice. Year numero uno is in the books, and with your help, we donated $2,500 to Save the Turtles non-profit organization.

We're not going to lie, it feels good to have year numero uno under our belt. We couldn't have done it without you. Aside from introducing seriously cool, sustainably-manufactured and eco-friendly shoes, we committed to donating a portion of all sales to three conservation organizations of your choice. And guess what (drumroll please...)? Most of you chose to save the turtles.

Since 2001, Save the Turtles, a non-profit conservation organization, has been committed to saving endangered sea turtles through the protection of the turtles, their eggs, and their hatchlings. The organization provides grants to community-based projects, which help fund the salaries of those who guard the beaches at night and protect turtles from poachers.

Together, we raised $2,500 for Save the Turtles. "The generosity of this donation will protect nesting sea turtles and their eggs from poachers," says Debbie Sherman, Executive Director. "Our focus at this time is a small village, Parismina in Costa Rica, who we have been working with since 2001. SAOLA's generous donation will pay local turtle patrollers’ salaries for 21 nights (eight local turtle patrollers per night). We are very grateful to SAOLA, a company who truly believes in saving our planet and thankful to you, the consumers who support our mission."

Whoah - thank you!

You also chose to support One Tree Planted, a non-profit dedicated to global reforestation. You helped us raise $1,000, which will plant 1,000 new trees in Colorado.

500€ was also donated to Surfrider Foundation Europe, an organization committed to protecting the areas in which we play: the ocean, waves, and beaches of Europe.

With the launch of our new spring line, we are continuing our commitment to conservation. One percent of all sales will be donated to a new, single, wildlife foundation, the MWALUA WILDLIFE TRUST. Focusing our efforts on one organization will allow us to have a stronger, more focused partnership, and make a greater impact so that our children, grandchildren, and future generations can enjoy wildlife, and animals like the rare SAOLA, as much as we have. Find out more, here.

So here's to you - thank you for choosing SAOLA. Together, we can #MAKEANIMPACT
